According to Reporters sans Frontieres, UK and US are not really innovators in terms of spying on their own citizens (and citizens of the world, in the case of US). It seems that the select club of privacy deniers formed by China, Russia, Iran, India, North Korea, Bahrain, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan and Vietnam. With further restrictions and spying powers being discussed in Turkey, it is likely that the former empire will also join the club.
