There’s no easy way to talk about a movie like “Amen” for the simple reason that there’s no way to be impartial. The general feeling of the brainwashed public about the events of the second World War is that of unequivocal sympathy towards the Jewish and Gypsy population exterminated by the nazis and of general hatred toward everything labelled as nazi. Showmanship

This has been a hot summer and it’s not going to end too soon. But beyond this, it has been a rather energetic summer mostly due to the concerts I got (and will get to) see. I’m quite an avid concert-goer for many reasons among which I can mention the spirit of the music being played while seeing the expression on a musician’s face while he’s playing, their general spirit and the overall feeling of thousand of watt-worth of sound power. Still, not every experience is a good one and as maniacal concert fan, I do have expectations which are closely related to a band pretends to be and what they actually are on stage.

On the gothic movie

As I mentioned in the previous post, the gothic style has spread into most (if not all) arts. Architecture, literature, music … they’ve taken benefit from artists inspired by the dark side of life. The expansion has been so great that now the gothic style is considered to be a sub culture in its own right.

The underground culture has recently went into an alarmed frenzy when two prominent and otherwise decent countries (UK and Russia) have recently announced plans to lash back at a few underground cultures seen as subversive and dangerous to society: goth, emo and skinheads. (more…)
