A sad news has circled the world since yesterday. The one called the greatest gamer of all time, Gary Gygax, creator of the famous Dungeons and Dragons game (arguably the most popular game in the world save for chess) and founder of Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) company, passed away March 4 2008.

Gary dedicated his entire life to gaming, being for tabletop gaming much the same Richard Garriot (Lord British) is for computer games. From miniature games to D&D and many other d20 gaming systems, Gary gave the world the pleasure of imagination, helping the conception of so many worlds and in this mission he never gave up, not even on his deathbed.

The D&D phenomenon spread into literature, music and (albeit failed attempt) , cinematography.

I would like the world to remember me as the guy who really enjoyed playing games and sharing his knowledge and his fun pastimes with everybody else. “(Gary Gygax)
