A story told, a quest begun
(out-of-Syree story)
Her dark eyes opened slowly to a view she did not expect. A room she did not remember surrounded her, a pretty little room lit by a large golden chandelier and rich carpets adorned the floor and the walls, while a soft fire was struggling to burn in the hearth. Yet the most unexpected was the presence of a pointy-eared man who was standing nearly above her.
A questioning gaze warned the man that his position was not one of advantage and he’d better explain himself and in a moment she actually demanded that:
“Who woke me?” she asked quickly, while memories started to return.
“An elf … my lady” a fearful voice answered. The man was quite troubled as he wasn’t proud of his deed and he indeed had no intention of troubling even more the beautiful woman who seemed to have just awakened from her slumber. “Forgive him, my lady for he meant no harm”.
Her small hand reached up to her lips where a strange taste still persisted. The avalanche of memories was overwhelming and she remembered … the woods … the rider … her necklace broken … the spell. Fear quickly installed in all of her features and she dared not speak for several moments, gathering words to her mind.
“Indeed … you are forgiven for you have awakened me from a century of slumber” she nodded to herself “You have arrived not a moment too late” she added as he threw away the sheets covering her body, giving him no further attention as she quickly became busy dressing herself.
“I beg forgiveness my lady” he said while ignoring her activity in a gentleman-like manner “But who would imprison such a beautiful lady in a deep slumber like this?” he shook his head carefully watching the way light and shadow seemed to dance on her face.
“An evil spirir, called Rummut. But I don’t expect you to have ever heard of him. But now you awoke me!
Hurry I have no time to lose. My pendulum was stolen, my magical necklace, and all my povers along with it.
Will you help me in my search?
Say! Will you acompany this powerles witch on her quest?”- she asked with her dark eyes full of hope, and a strange fire.
